Our Disneyland Holiday Food Guide: The Best Holiday Eats for Disneyland Foodies - Perfecting the Magic (2024)

Calling all Disney foodies! If you love trying all the new treats that Disney theme parks offer, you’ve come to the right place! At Perfecting the Magic, we’re all about navigating the theme parks in style (and helping you do it, too!). But exploring the theme parks also means working up an appetite and munching on seasonal snacks!

But out of everything on the menu, what’s actually worth it? We’re listing some of our favorite holiday eats and treats available at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this year and suggesting when you should buy them!

Totally Worth the Hype: Mickey Gingerbread Cookie

Is this possibly the most popular sweet treat at Disneyland Resort (aside from those famous candy canes)? Yes. But is it overrated? Absolutely not. Believe us when we say that this cookie is truly the best of the best. We recommend using the Disneyland app’s mobile order feature and placing an order for one (or more!) cookies at the beginning of your park day.

Here’s where you’ll find this gingerbread treat:

  • Jolly Holiday Bakery Café in Disneyland (mobile order available)
  • Candy Palace in Disneyland (mobile order available)
  • Market House in Disneyland
  • Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure (mobile order available)
  • Holiday snack cart in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
  • Marceline’s Confectionery at Downtown Disney (mobile order available)

A Must-Try for the Coffee Lovers: Churro Toffee Cold Brew

If you’re big on Disney sweets, then you’re probably familiar with Churro Toffee. But Churro Toffee Cold Brew? That’s a whole different treat that’s as delicious as it is caffeinated.

Back in 2019, Disney California Adventure’s Festival of Holidays added a new coffee beverage to their menu that combined the perfection of Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. with the deliciousness of Disney’s iconic Churro Toffee treat.Sowhen we found out that this drink was back at DCA for the holiday season, we knew we had to get it again.

Now, there’s something you should definitely keep in mind if you order this drink. It’s pretty popular, and there are times when the holiday food booth where it’s sold (Holiday Duets Marketplace) can run out of the ingredients.Even though you can place an order at any of the holiday kiosks and pick it up at Holiday Duets, we recommend ordering at this specific booth so you can double check with a Cast Member that all the ingredients are available. That way, you’re getting the drink exactly how it’s supposed to be made.

Life Day Snacks: Black Sesame Macaron and Potato Hand Pie

No lie, these are some of our favorite snacks on Disneyland property right now. Head to Kat Saka’s Kettle at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for something sweet and savory. The Black Sesame Macaron offers the right amount of passion fruit flavor balanced with the nuttiness of the black sesame, and the potato hand pie is Tikka Masala-spiced and completely vegetarian.

You can get both of these snacks for just around $13 total, and we think they’re totally worth it! Hopefully, Kat Saka’s continues to serve up seasonal dishes like this.

MerriestNitesExclusives: Red Beans & Rice Stew and Sipping Chocolate with a Dipping Waffle

Finally, if you’re heading to Disney MerriestNites, there are two exclusive menu items that we think are definitely worth a try. Remember, though, that it’s a good idea to preorder your food ahead of time using the mobile order feature on the Disneyland app. Thank us later!

Over at Royal Street Veranda in New Orleans Square is the Red Beans & Rice Stew. Served in a sourdough bread bowl and featuring spiced ham and andouille sausage, this dish is scrumptious. And of course, if you’re a vegetarian, you can’t go wrong with the vegetable gumbo served daily as well as during the Christmas after-hours party!

And of course, no 2021 holiday foodie guide to Disneyland Resort is complete without mentioning the Sipping Chocolate with a Dipping Waffle. This is on everyone’s must-try lists this season, and for good reason. The sweet waffle is perfectly toasty, and the rich hot chocolate is decadent and perfect for sipping (or dipping!). Find it at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café.

Deliciousness Awaits

There are so many more drinks and dishes available at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney District available this holiday season through January 9. We hope this guide helped you decide what to add to your must-eat list! Did we leave out your favorite food item? Leave us a comment and follow along on our social channels to stay up-to-date!
